Mamie Louella Willis from Somewhere In America
My arthritis is acting up a bit, so give me a moment.
**Knees pop**
All right. I know yâ??all want to know why I said what I said about my neighborhood. For one, I didnâ??t lie on nobody. All you got to do is watch folks and youâ??ll see what the real deal is.
That gal wearing those turtlenecks in eighty degree weather? I seen those women many a time and it only means one thing: Sheâ??s getting her tail whupped on the regular.
The man behind me whose wife left in the middle of the night? Shoot, I believe him when he said she was just a freak. I mean her ex-husband shows up then sheâ??s out the house with a suitcase soon after? She done asked her man to do something that normal at all.
And when the deacon was up at that golddiggers house, yes, Iâ??m the one called his wife.
So Iâ??m not just some gossipy old woman with no business of her own. I got business. But I also know, if I donâ??t say something, who will? Everybody scared of their shadows these days. Donâ??t nobody want to get involved; want to be loved by everybody while their world is falling down around them.
Not me. Iâ??m saying, telling and reporting whatever, whenever on whoever. I call them like I see them. I know the truth hurts, but it is what it is.
Remember this: It donâ??t matter where you live or how much money you got. People the same all over. Hoity-toity or the ghetto. Same sh*t, different address, somewhere in America.
